After a week of meetings, 55 Microsoft employees closed things out with a Build-A-Bike® charity event in Redmond, Washington. Teams spent the afternoon building bikes from the ground up, and every finished bike went to the Bellevue Family YMCA to give to kids in need.
Microsoft is a global technology leader founded in 1975. It develops and sells software, consumer electronics, and personal computers. Its Redmond campus, just outside Seattle, serves as the company’s headquarters and innovation hub.
Microsoft Teams Trade a Week of Meetings for an Afternoon Build-A-Bike® Charity Event Redmund, WA
By the end of a week-long meeting schedule, most people are done with conference rooms. Microsoft planned for that. Instead of one more session, the week ended with something hands-on.
The group split into teams and got to work. Friendly competition took over quickly as each team raced to turn a box of parts into a finished bike. Teams had to divide up the work, communicate clearly, and check each other’s work to get every bike built correctly. By the end of the afternoon, the room was full of fully assembled bikes ready to go.
It was a way for the group to unwind after a long week, and every bike helped a local kid.
Bikes for the Bellevue Family YMCA
Every bike went to the Bellevue Family YMCA, which will give them to children in need in the Seattle area. A week of meetings ended with something the team could see and kids in the community could use.
Thank You, Microsoft
