The City of Arlington IT team attended a Creating a Team Culture training seminar in Arlington, TX on April 7th. Seventy-five participants filled the Dan Dipert Career and Technical Center for a full day focused on improving how they work together. This was not a small breakout session. It felt more like a full-team reset, with everyone in one place and fully involved. The group spent the day digging into communication, trust, and practical ways to improve team dynamics. The setup gave the entire department a chance to align at the same time, which made the experience feel both productive and efficient.

A Department Came Together to Grow Team Culture at Training Seminar in Arlington, Texas
With 75 team members in the room, the morning session had a noticeable energy right away. Instead of passive listening, the group jumped into discussions and shared experiences from their day-to-day roles. People compared notes, talked through common challenges, and started connecting dots across teams that do not always interact.
The setting added to the experience. The Dan Dipert Career and Technical Center gave the session a different feel than a typical office meeting. Around midday, the high school catering class stepped in with a full Italian lunch, which turned into a relaxed break where conversations kept going. It felt less like a pause and more like a continuation of the day in a different format.
The afternoon shifted gears into more hands-on problem solving. The group tackled real workplace scenarios, from handling conflict to running more productive meetings. With a team this size, those conversations covered a wide range of perspectives, which made the discussions more useful and grounded.
By the end of the day, the team had a shared approach they could actually use back at work. Instead of leaving with general ideas, they walked away with clear ways to improve communication and collaboration across the department. Getting the entire team aligned in one session made a big difference in how those ideas will carry forward.
We appreciate the City of Arlington IT team for spending the day with us. It was a pleasure supporting your efforts to strengthen team culture.
