On August 5, 2026, about 35 members of Amazon’s Bay Area participated in a Rescue Bear® team-building event in Santa Clara, California. Teams solved riddles to earn their supplies, then built custom stuffed bears. Every bear went to children at a Live in Peace school in East Palo Alto.

Amazon’s Bay Area Team Rebuilds Connections With Rescue Bear® Team-Building Event in Santa Clara
Amazon’s Santa Clara team had just been through a period of major organizational change. The informal connections that make a team work, like knowing who to ask for help, had taken a hit. This session was built to rebuild them.
Rescue Bear® is a good fit because everyone gets a role. Analytical thinkers took on the riddles. Natural communicators kept their teams organized and moving. Hands-on builders turned the supplies into finished bears. Each team needed all three kinds of people to finish, so coworkers had to rely on each other.
By the end of the session, teams had a row of finished bears in front of them and a clearer sense of how they work together.
Bears for Live in Peace
Tito Alvarez of Live in Peace came to accept the bears and spoke to the group about the organization’s mission. The bears went to children at a Live in Peace school in East Palo Alto, just a few miles from where they were built.
