Continental Tire the Americas brought 56 leaders together from across North and South America for a super customized Build-A-Bike® team event in Charlotte, SC. The gathering was part of their Americas Management Meeting, anchored by a new “One Americas” theme. Teams competed to assemble bicycles built in Continental’s brand colors and fitted with Continental tires. The finished bikes were donated to local youth.

Continental Tire Leaders from Across the Americas Connect at Build-A-Bike® Americas Management Meeting in Charlotte
The “One Americas” theme running through the management meeting was not just a slogan for this group. Leaders from North and South America had traveled to the same room specifically to close the distance between their regions. The Build-A-Bike® event gave them something to act on together before any real work discussion had finished.
The setup was the perfect match to the theme. Team lines were drawn across functions; finance, marketing, HR, and product development, rather than by geography or business unit. The international mix meant every table had to figure out how to work together quickly. The competitive challenges pushed that process. Teams that communicated across functions and across languages found their rhythm and moved fast.
The bikes added a detail that made the event memorable. Built in Continental brand colors and fitted with Continental tires, they were not generic donation items. They were a product of the team’s collective work, marked with the concept the whole room represented. Handing them off to local youth at the end of the afternoon gave the “One Americas” theme a concrete expression that went beyond the meeting room.
The barn-style venue with an open, outdoor feel was the right setting for a gathering that was trying to be something different from a standard leadership conference. It worked. The energy of the day matched the ambition of the theme.
We’d like to thank Continental Tire the Americas for building a management meeting that asked something real of everyone in the room. Events like this one are the reason the “One Americas” theme lands.
Looking for a team event that can bring senior leaders from multiple countries together around a shared goal? A Build-A-Bike® event is one of the best ways to do it.
