The Five Below leadership team came together for a Build-A-Bike® bike building charity event in Atlantic City, NJ on October 9th. Hosted at The Ocean Casino, the event brought a massive group of 235 leaders together during their annual summit. What started as a gathering to connect and celebrate quickly turned into something bigger. This year, Five Below wanted more than great conversations. They wanted action. The result was an energetic, hands-on experience with real impact.

Five Below Leaders Unite for Bike Building Charity Event in Atlantic City, New Jersey
The Build-A-Bike® event gave Five Below’s leadership team a fast-paced way to strengthen relationships and reinforce company culture. Leaders broke into small groups and jumped straight into friendly competition. Teams tackled challenges, earned bike parts, and worked together to assemble 30 brand-new bicycles. The room buzzed with laughter, problem-solving, and a steady countdown clock that kept everyone moving.
The moment that changed everything came when leaders learned who would receive the bikes. The donation went to children from a local Atlantic City elementary school. Many of these students walk to school every day because their families cannot afford transportation. That realization shifted the energy in the room. Competition faded into reflection, and excitement turned into something deeper. Several executives shared that the experience ranked among the most meaningful moments of their careers.
The Build-A-Bike® program aligned seamlessly with The Five Below Foundation’s mission to help kids, families, and communities thrive. By the end of the event, 50 children gained brand-new bikes, and 235 leaders walked away more connected than ever. The experience blended service, generosity, and shared purpose into one unforgettable summit highlight.
