Kimley-Horn Unites for Build-a-Bike® Team Building Activity in Denver, Colorado

The Build-A-Bike® program turned the Sheraton ballroom into a full-scale festival floor. With 750 participants filling the space, the energy felt more like a concert than a meeting session. Teams leaned into the Sea to Summit Music Festival theme while racing to earn parts and assemble bikes.

Small groups formed across the room, each focused on solving challenges and moving quickly. Coordinating an activity at this size required sharp communication and tight teamwork. Leaders and new hires worked side by side, comparing strategies and keeping their builds on track. As the countdown clock ticked down, the volume in the room climbed right along with it.

When the final whistle blew, 96 completed bikes lined the ballroom. The visual alone made the scale clear. Representatives from Denver Public Schools stepped forward to accept the donation. The presentation capped off the regional meeting with a clear, tangible result that matched the size of the gathering.
