ARA Prepare for 50th Anniversary with Rescue Bear® in Kansas City

ARA Insurance brought its entire local team together for a Rescue Bear® charity team building event in Kansas City, Missouri. Employees gathered at Lidia’s restaurant for an afternoon that combined recognition, connection, and community impact. As the company looked ahead to its upcoming 50th anniversary, the event offered a chance to celebrate the people who helped build that success. Along the way, team members assembled 28 stuffed bears that would later be donated to children receiving care at Children’s Mercy Hospital.

ARA Insurance Marks a Milestone Year with a Rescue Bear® Event in Kansas City, Missouri

This wasn’t just another team gathering. The event served as a celebration of the people who have helped shape ARA Insurance over the years. Before the activities began, several employees received special recognition for their contributions. Awards and gift cards helped set a positive tone for the afternoon.

Once the Rescue Bear® program got underway, the room quickly came alive. Team members worked through challenges that encouraged communication, cooperation, and creative thinking. Employees who rarely crossed paths during the workday suddenly found themselves working side by side. Conversations flowed easily, and laughter spread from table to table.

Although the group wasn’t massive by conference standards, bringing together the entire local staff created a special energy. Everyone had a role to play. Every team contributed to the final outcome. The event felt less like a meeting and more like a company-wide celebration with a purpose.

The most meaningful moment arrived when Stephanie from Children’s Mercy Hospital joined the group. She explained how the bears would be used to comfort young patients during difficult moments. Her remarks helped everyone understand the real impact behind the activity. The 28 bears would soon provide reassurance, comfort, and a friendly companion to children facing medical challenges.

By the end of the afternoon, employees had created something that extended far beyond the event itself. The bears, the new workplace connections, and the recognition of key team members all helped make the gathering memorable. The event host was especially pleased with the experience and shared that the program exceeded expectations.

We extend our sincere thanks to ARA Insurance for supporting children at Children’s Mercy Hospital through this Rescue Bear® event. We also thank Stephanie and the Children’s Mercy Hospital team for the incredible care and support they provide to families throughout the Kansas City area.
